Gamuda Land has recently announced that the company would be launching its first-ever waterpark in Gamuda Cove dubbed SplashMania set to debut next January.
During a sneak preview held at Quayside Mall, Gamuda Land’s chief operating officer Chu Wai Lune highlighted how SplashMania waterpark will not only benefit residents from Gamuda Cove but also its surrounding communities and Malaysia at large, with a projected annual visitorship of 800,000.
"The waterpark will allow us to reach out to an untapped ecotourism opportunity in the Southern Klang Valley region in line with Tourism Selangor’s plan.”
With the tagline ‘Where Nature Meets Fun’ forming the essence of the waterpark, general manager Sanjay Nadarajah said: "Taking into consideration the natural setting of the waterpark and the surrounding wetlands, we ensured that we dedicate 70% of the waterpark to green spaces."
Encompassing 18-acres of land, the waterpark will house 24 water slides and 15 attractions, among which include the Shaka Waka, a 78-metre-long multimedia and audio waterslide fitted with illuminating LED light effects customised by each individual rider prior to entering the attraction.
Other attractions include the Wild Rush waterslide, made of a mix of back-to-back curves, drops and vortex loops that culminate into a final splash into a 3.35-metre-deep pool, and Atlantis VR, a virtual reality experience where guests don headgears as they begin a 250-metre virtual journey through the Lost City of Atlantis.
Additionally, the property developer will be introducing GL Play, a mobile app designed as part of the park’s digitalisation efforts to offer convenience for visitors. The app will allow guests to purchase their tickets ahead of time and find their way around the waterpark via the park map feature as well as pre-order their refreshments.
