XES Shoes Aids Underserved Communities In Year-Long CSR Campaign 'Kongsi Rezeki Bersama'

XES Shoes, a homegrown footwear brand, has been engaged in a year-long initiative titled "Kongsi Rezeki Bersama XES Shoes," in which the XES team seek out families and charity organisations in need of financial assistance, that will run until the 31st of December. Part of its annual Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) campaign, XES Shoes is looking to distribute approximately RM100,000 on top of free footwear to impoverished families and communities.

The first phase saw the company donate RM12,000 to a few charity houses across the Klang Valley such as Rumah Bakti Nur Syaheera, Cahaya Kasih Bestari and Pusat Jagaan Telaga Nur Kasih Muhammad. The remainder of the budget will be directed towards more charity initiatives moving forward in the year.

"We want to take this opportunity to assist families and children facing difficulties, especially after a worldwide pandemic. Through the direct financial assistance provided, we hope that we can relieve some of the burdens of the impoverished and underserved," stated XES Shoes Founder and Managing Director, Simpson Wong. "Coming from humble beginnings myself, I understand the effects of the hardships and challenges that many have been facing on a daily basis due to financial restraints that have been further exacerbated by the effects of COVID-19 these last 2 years."

"Because of this, my team and I have been committed to charity and giving back since our establishment. We believe that the month of Ramadan is a good time to kick-start the year-long campaign as it is a month for reflection and charity."

Earlier this year, the XES team worked with Pertubuhan Hati Seni Selangor to provide free shoes for the needy this coming Aidilfitri, giving families the opportunity and breathing space to not only prepare for the upcoming festivities, but also for a more assured year ahead.

Simpson added "Being a local favourite brand does not only mean that we make our products available to Malaysians, but also the steps that we take to support our local communities, especially those who require a leg-up in life. I hope that our contributions will lead to brighter futures, especially for younger generations."

"More than that, I hope to work with my fellow business owners in supporting our local communities, continuing to share our successes with the people who need it the most."
