KUALA LUMPUR: AEON Co (M) Bhd has named Naoya Okada as its new managing director, effective March 1, 2024, succeeding Keiji Ono, who will be transitioning to a new role in AEON Japan.
Okada, previously the deputy managing director and chief operating officer, has been a key driver of AEON's growth since 2022. His strategic insight and market acumen have been instrumental in steering AEON towards resilience and agility in anticipation of future challenges, remarked AEON Co-chairman Datuk Iskandar Sarudin.
The announcement also conveyed gratitude to Ono for his 27 years of service within the AEON group, during which he held various significant positions. Ono's tenure as managing director since June 2022 has seen strategic enhancements to AEON's management structure in Malaysia, setting the stage for continued growth and development.
AEON expressed its commitment to revitalise its management team further to propel its growth strategy forward.
