Mr D.I.Y Tackles Student Malnourishment With 'Healthy Meals' In Latest Initiative

With the rising cost of living pushing families to the brink, schools are also seeing a worrying case of malnourishment among schoolchildren. On a mission to bring some sort of relief, MR D.I.Y Group [M] Berhad has initiated a school aid programme dubbed Healthy Meals by MR D.I.Y to distribute milk, bread, and mineral water to primary schools in Selangor.

Commenting on the initiative, MR D.I.Y. Group Chairman, Dato’ Azlam Shah Alias said that the company sees it as their role to help communities in which it operates continue to thrive and grow, this means continuously monitoring emerging issues to see if there is a part that it can play in addressing them.

“Our position as a value retailer and our direct relationship with manufacturers means we have access to affordable products, including milk, bread and mineral water, which we source for the brands under our remit.”

“Making these products available to primary school children under the Healthy Meals by MR D.I.Y initiative is something we are very happy to do, as it ensures their continued well-being. We hope other companies will support this excellent programme; it will ensure a brighter future for all Malaysians,” he continued.

As Malaysia’s largest home improvement retailer, the programme has benefitted 737 students in five primary schools under the purview of Pejabat Pendidikan Daerah (PPD) Hulu Langat, Selangor namely SK Bukit Raya Hulu Langat, SK Cheras Jaya Cheras, SK Taming Jaya Seri Kembangan, SK Kajang, and SK Leftenan Adnan Kajang.
