Pos Malaysia Bhd, the national post and parcel service provider, has announced a strategic partnership with Yinson GreenTech to introduce electric vehicle (EV) charging stations. Powered by chargEV, the country's largest EV charging network and operator, the charging stations are now available daily from 7 am to 11 pm at six Pos Malaysia post offices located in Shah Alam, Ipoh, Melaka, Seremban, Alor Setar, and Johor Bahru.
Pos Malaysia's commitment to advancing sustainable mobility solutions and expanding access to sustainable energy sources is exemplified through the installation of these EV chargers. The company plans to expand the charging stations to additional post offices in phases, ensuring increased accessibility for EV owners and supporting the growing number of electric vehicles in the country.
Each charging outlet is equipped with a DC charger featuring two CCS2-type nozzles (fast charging) with 40kW power. Depending on the EV model, charging an EV up to 80% typically takes between 60 and 90 minutes. Pos Malaysia aims to provide optimal charging experiences for EV users, emphasizing efficient and reliable charging performance.
In line with its commitment to sustainability, Pos Malaysia has recently deployed over 40 e-Bikes for mail and parcel delivery across the Klang Valley, contributing to a carbon-free delivery system. By the end of 2023, the company plans to have a combination of more than 200 e-Bikes and 140 e-Vans operating throughout Peninsular Malaysia.
Pos Malaysia's strategic partnership with Yinson GreenTech and the introduction of EV charging stations align with the company's efforts to embrace sustainable solutions, reduce carbon emissions, and support the adoption of electric vehicles in Malaysia's transportation landscape.
