MIFF 2024 kicks off with a whopping record of 714 exhibitors.

(KUALA LUMPUR) Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) 2024 kicked off with a bang, boasting a record-breaking 714 exhibitors from 15 countries and regions as it celebrates its 30th anniversary in the global furniture trade.

The extravaganza promises an innovative and competitive sourcing experience for the anticipated 20,000 furniture professionals over four days, from March 1 to 4, at the Malaysia International Trade & Exhibition Centre (MITEC) and World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL).

The honourable Minister of Plantation and Commodities, Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani, inaugurated the event, marking a significant milestone for the Malaysian furniture industry. From its humble beginnings with just 152 local exhibitors in 1995, MIFF has soared to new heights, presenting an exhilarating leap into its next chapter of growth.

With a sold-out space and a six per cent increase in exhibitors, anticipation is high for another round of robust business, following last year's impressive 19% jump in sales to US$1.21 billion and a peak of 673 exhibitors.

Joining Malaysian companies this year are exhibitors from Cambodia, Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, Türkiye, Vietnam, United Arab Emirates, and the United States.

MIFF Founder and Chairman, Dato' Dr Tan Chin Huat, expressed excitement about the future, vowing to elevate the show to even greater heights. With its reputation as a global top 10 furniture marketplace and the largest in Southeast Asia, MIFF remains a vital platform for Malaysian companies to access the global market.

Spanning 17 halls across a combined space of 100,000 sqm, this year's show offers an extensive showcase of furniture excellence. Notable Malaysian exhibitors include Ecomate, Evergreen Fibreboard, Favourite Design, and many more, showcasing their latest collections.

Key attractions include the expanded Muar Hall, the International Hall, Sofa Hall, and the MIFF Office segment. A highlight is the new MIFF Furniverse app, offering attendees a customised experience and real-time updates.

Off the trading floor, attendees can indulge in MIFF hospitality and networking opportunities, including the International Buyers Lounge, Buyers Night gala dinner, and industry seminars. The MIFF Awards Ceremony, on Mar 3, will honour exhibitors and top designers, adding to the festive atmosphere.
