Developed in partnership with Gentari, the programme aims to make solar energy accessible to West Malaysian households, fostering affordable renewable solutions.
The programme, introduced in response to the growing demand for eco-friendly energy, addresses the need for affordable alternatives. It coincides with the Minister of Energy Transition and Public Utilities, YAB Dato' Sri Haji Fadillah Bin Haji Yusof's announcement of an additional 100MW quota for the Net Energy Metering programme, specifically for households (NEM Rakyat).
Subscribers will experience an immediate payback, eliminating prolonged waiting periods. With a fixed tariff of RM0.46/kWh compared to the national grid's tariff of RM0.57/kWh. The programme requires no credit card or loan financing, ensuring subscribers avoid debt.
Raj Ridvan Singh, Founder-CEO of SOLS Energy, expressed the commitment to facilitating an affordable transition to green energy and supporting the government's green initiative. He stated, "By removing financial barriers and simplifying the process, we are democratising solar energy and enabling homeowners to contribute to a sustainable future while also creating green jobs for youth from the Orang Asli and Orang Asal backgrounds."
The programme, exclusive to West Malaysian homeowners with electricity bills exceeding RM550, invites interested individuals to join and embark on a journey towards energy independence. As Malaysia targets net-zero emissions, SOLS Energy's Home Solar Subscription programme empowers Malaysians to participate actively in the nation's environmental goals.
