Bumi Armada Secures RM198.7 Million FPSO Charter Extension

Bumi Armada Bhd, through its jointly controlled entity SP Armada Oil Exploration Private Limited (SPAOEPL), has announced the extension of a charter hire contract for the Armada Sterling II FPSO vessel.


The contract, valued at RM198.7 million (US$43 million), has been granted by India's state-owned oil company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited. The Armada Sterling II FPSO will continue operating in the ONGC Cluster-7 field, located approximately 210km off the west coast of Mumbai, India. The original contract, signed on March 13, 2013, was a nine-year firm time-charter with the option for annual extensions.


The contract's expiry date has been extended to March 7, 2024. SPAOEPL is a joint venture between Bumi Armada and Shapoorji Pallonji Energy Private Limited of India, with Bumi Armada's shares closing one per cent higher at RM0.445 a share.
