AirAsia X (AAX) is set to expand its medium-haul network with the reintroduction of direct flights to Amritsar in Northwestern India. Beginning on September 3, 2023, the four times weekly services will offer an additional yearly capacity of 157,263 seats between Kuala Lumpur and Amritsar.
This move marks AAX's second destination in India, following New Delhi, and aims to enhance their medium-haul offerings with affordable fares while contributing to overall business growth. By strengthening its position in South Asia, AirAsia X aims to complement its existing robust network in North Asia. Amritsar, located in Punjab, is a highly sought-after destination in the region that has been underserved by the Asia Pacific market.
